Merir-gando

Meaning "where gods once walked", Merir-gando is a city recovering from a meteorite that hit the eastern part of the city six years ago. Merir-gando's defensive mechanisms and Chrono forcefields, being some of the most advanced technology in the galaxy, are usually enough to stop meteorites, but the eastern district of the city's defensive measures failed to activate in time. The meteorite struck, wiping out the entire section and leaving nothing but smoldering ruins behind -- the district's forcefield activated just after the meteorite hit, containing the destruction to within that area. The eastern district is still being rebuilt and cleaned out, and there are dozens of memorials dedicated to those who died in the incident all over Merir-gando. The destroyed district is a tragic mar on what would otherwise be an impressive city often considered the center of Finido commerce. Traders and businessmen from all over Drio use Merir-gando as a business outlook, giving the city a unique variety that is hard to find elsewhere.
