Larot's portals have opened. Curious adventurers who enter these strange swirling masses of energy will find themselves somewhere on Cabaria, a rather small planet located in Sector II of the Ailnyk Galaxy. It has only two continents: Habou and Rackina, each practically polar opposites on the industrialization spectrum and in their approaches to creating civilizations. As Allegro Presto XI has pointed out, Habou is the continent under attack by mutant monsters. Rackina, being separated by oceans from Habou, does not face any of those mutant monster dangers.
As Cabaria is home to the cabarians and cabarus alphas, you can create characters of either of these races for the duration of Cabaria's plot. As this is more or less a test run for Chrono Stars' plots, "The Monster Within" is going to extend indefinitely until it reaches its conclusion. Ideally, this would be within four weeks, but considering that we currently lack enough members to really speed through a plot like that, Cabaria's plot is going to keep going.
Quests will start to pop up on the Hero4Hire board that are related to Cabaria, not to mention there'll most certainly be some quests on Cabaria's boards themselves. Stay tuned for those. Depending on where the characters involved take it, this plot can end up as remarkably tragic or amazingly upbeat for something that starts out relatively dire. I'll just say this right now: the mutant monsters are probably going to act as a catalyst for something much, much bigger. I doubt that they're the ones who'll define this plot.
