Arhom opted to take one of The Peaceful Bernice's Rovers to the surface of Arplakoon, rather than the mother ship herself, for several reasons. Speed and maneuverability were a big part of it, of course, but it also helped him to keep a low profile. He read up on the planet during the trip there, to refresh his memory, and learned that it had become quite the tourist attraction. To think that a group of divine beings, the guardians of the galaxy, ended up amounting to no more than a universal pit-stop. Just another sign of the times, he mused. It donned on him that he too was just stopping in, but he felt his reasons had to be more justified than everyone else. After all, he had important matters to attend to, and that ring would really come in handy.
| | Thats right, his job. Would the Order have something to say about the fact that he earned his living liberating parts of the very galaxy they supposedly guarded? Would they even care? His low-key approach was going to be enough to fool most of the Kylians on the planets surface, but research told him that the Order had means of seeing the true nature of a person. It made sense. They were gods, after all.
With a few bursts from the thrusters on the bottom of the Rover, he managed near-perfect landing. Dark mists swirled around him menacingly, almost making him re-consider going back after a breathing apparatus. The articles had said the atmosphere was friendly enough, though, so he took his chances. The trip from Bernice was long enough, even with the Rover's speed. No need to make it any longer. The hull cracked open, causing his ears to pop with the sudden change in pressure. He might never get used to that. As he hopped out onto solid ground, the mists seemed to part, creating the illusion of a tunnel. In the distance a few still figures could be made out. Arhom was relieved. At least he didn't have to waste any time finding this altar.
Voices could be heard all around, but the mists obscured his view of any of the planets other visitors. Perhaps this was a deliberate effect, to keep traffic to a minimum. Lead the crowd where they need to be and eliminate any distractions. Then again, it could just be a trick of perspective. The swamps back on Drio had a thick atmosphere as well, but it was nothing like this. It was a shame, too. He wanted to find someone to ask about how best to approach the Order. Looks like he was just going to have to go for it. Puffing up his throat, he took a deep breath. This display would have been impressive to another Tiartzard, but results tended to vary when it came to different races. His crooked stride toward the Order still managed to be quite striking, at least in his own mind.
"Roux's the name. I require a Chrono Ring," He blurted out "If you please... naturally." He straightened up and threw a quick glance to his left, where he saw a long line of frustrated Kylians, quietly waiting their turn. His bulbous throat suddenly deflated as he realized his ignorance. Rather than correct himself, he just stood there, hoping to make it look intentional. Better to seem a jerk than an idiot, he reasoned. |

Huzzah, another vessel arriving on the edge of the altar! How exciting it was to have so many guests, even though it hadn't been from the mother ship as expected. Tales for another day, one might suppose! Even still, the long line of those coming to get Chrono Rings was quite enjoyable for some of the Order, as it was always nice to have a bit of conversing. Although, with it, came the usual complaining and bickering of many of the members.
Piccadilly, a green, short-winged dragon was especially enjoying the time, and continued to play his beloved music, although as usual, he played the same song over, and over, and over, and over again. He was claiming that each mortal who came to get themselves a Chrono Ring deserved to hear it, though it was driving the other members of the Order off the wall.
"SHADDAP," Ria, a small, catlike gargoyle moaned. She greatly disliked all of his noise.
"Oh, do be nicer to him, Ria. He means well!" Sapphire, a dark blue bird statue with a bit of transparency and a white ribbon 'round her neck scolded lightly.
Piccadilly, on the other hand, was a bit upset and began humming to himself for the arriving mortals. As the Tiartzard approached, the green dragon made the attempt to hum a little louder, but just enough so that Ria wouldn't get upset and begin yelling again.
Sapphire answered the request. "Well, Roux, we aim to please."
At that moment, Sapphire's transparent body flashed, and a large ring appeared a bit in front of Roux, its elaborate engravings shining as the light died down.
Ria then added on, "Don't forget these," before flashing herself. A few items them materialized and clanged to the ground in front of the tiartzard. They consisted of a plastic sword, a leather glove with a few crude spikes on it, a piece of firewood small rune staff, a device used to start the fire small bow with arrows, and a crude pistol. "Pick two. Only two."

Almost as soon as it had appeared, Roux reached up and snatched the ring out of the air. He was pleased to see the statues didn't get as annoyed with him as they seemed to get with each other. They continued their lighthearted arguments as he eyeballed the array of weapons in front of him. They were clearly trash, but who was he to turn down a freebie? Lets see... bow and arrows? Not likely! He wasn't a primitive. Plastic sword? Maybe if he wanted to butter a slice of bread. A rusted-glint caught his eye from the bottom of the pile. A gun! At least it would sound like it could do some damage. He reached a hand in the pile and snatched it out greedily. Holding it up to the light, he attempted to appraise the item. "I suppose it'll do." He said, pocketing his prize. "Oh, I gotta get two, Eh?" What was left? Pointy gloves? His fists were already capable of doing enough damage on their own, he reasoned. That left the big stick. He would have just left with what he had, but he remembered a group of interstellar monks that used to frequent the space station he used to call home. Though usually a peaceful lot, they carried similar weapons, and occasionally put on impressive shows to demonstrate their abilities. Arhom grabbed the stick from the pile, purely for the sake of nostalgia. Perhaps he'd hang it above one of The Peaceful Bernice's many doors, just to see if his crew would notice the change.
"Well then. I guess I'll thank ya, and let the others have their turn," he winked at the group of frustrated Kylians behind him. Just as he was turning to leave, he noticed the tune that the verdant dragon was humming. It was oddly familiar. "'Ey then, dragon," he asked, poking at the air in front of him for emphasis, "What's that melody yer murmuring over there?"
