The space shuttle ride hadn't been as magickal as Eva would have hoped. She should have suspected it wasn't going to be that great when she was able to afford the ticket, but how low-budget everything was still proved to be a huge letdown. They didn't even have a wheelchair ramp -- it took a pair kind-hearted draconums to get her aboard the ship. She anxiously drummed her fingers on the armrests of her wheelchair, staring intently at the ceiling of the ship. She'd failed to get a window seat, and the fairly obnoxious cainos next to her was blocking the nearest window by leaning up against it and sleeping. For that reason, Eva had seen only the smallest glimpses of space.
Abruptly, the spaceship shook. The cainos jolted awake and, with a big grin on his face, grabbed the bag stowed underneath his seat. He roughly shoved past her and scurried towards the nearest exit. Eva, meanwhile, had to awkwardly lean down and un-clip her wheelchair from the binds they'd attached it to in order to keep her from sliding around everywhere. Once that was done, she pushed herself forward. As soon as she reached the door, though, she realized that getting down wasn't going to be easy. Grimacing, Eva looked around for the draconums who'd helped her out earlier, but they were nowhere to be found. That was just great. Behind her, a line of anxious Kylians had formed, all waiting for her to get out so they could meet with the Order of Arplakoon. Couldn't any of them help her?
Giving up on the notion of receiving any aid at all, Eva grabbed the sides of the doorway and leaned back. Here went nothing. With a rough shove, she was out the door and had miraculously landed on the ground right side up. She grinned. The fall hadn't been that far, but it was still a wonder that she had managed that little trick successfully. Triumphantly, she wheeled forward and turned her head, trying to take in every sight on this strange planet. The air seemed like Nicta air. Gravity also seemed to be the same, too. But there was just something different about here. Even though there were tons of people around, it just felt quiet. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a group of Kylians marching off towards where the mist was particularly thick. Eva squinted. In the distance, she could make out a few dark shapes. That had to be the Order of Arplakoon.
Hardly able to restrain herself, Eva shot forward, pushing herself as fast as she could. Within a minute, she was standing face-to-face with a group of statues. The gravity of the situation dawned on her -- she was talking to the guardians of the galaxy.
"Um. Hi there," she awkwardly started. Eva scratched at the back of her head and forced a chuckle. "I'm... here for a Chrono Ring. My name's Eva Rauer."
Great, she sounded so stupid. If she didn't need the Chrono Ring so badly, she would have just left after that embarrassing introduction.
