READ THIS THROUGH COMPLETELY OR YOU'LL BE EATEN BY CROCODILES.
If your application is currently not finished, please make note of it somewhere in the post itself or in the thread's title (e.g. [WIP] or [Not Finished]). When it is complete, change that note so staff members know to check it.
Characters that defy/change the continuity, are basically perfect, or have backgrounds that break the character rules listed here will not be accepted until the offending material is edited or taken out of the application. Staff members also reserve the right to reject a profile if they feel it does not belong on this forum, even if the profile does not explicitly break any rules outlined here. Similarly, you have the right to talk to another staff member if you feel that the person reviewing your profile is being unfair.
G-mods and admins can accept applications, along with a select few who are given permission to do so.
General rules:
Application Explanations and Template:
Name: Your character's name.
Sex: Your character's sex. (If your character is a cabarus alpha and therefore biologically sexless, just put down their gender, which would be whether they view themselves as a male or a female.)
Age: Your character's age.
Race: Your character's race.
Appearance: What your character looks like. Do not just post a picture or simply list attributes of your character; you must actually type out a description in some kind of paragraph form. If your character has multiple forms (e.g. a preferred shape if they're a morper or a shape-shifter, their forms if they're a cabarus alpha), kindly describe those for us as well.
Personality: How your character acts and reacts to situations. Once again, no listing things; write it out in paragraph form. Avoid clichéd, unrealistic and flawless personalities, please.
History: Your character's history. Please avoid creating unbelievable histories that don't make sense.
Other Notes: Anything extra that you think is noteworthy about your character that your fellow role players should know or that you want to remember for your own reference. This section is completely optional.
Actual Application:
Feel free to change up this application within reason. Adding in additional sections, like date of birth, height, weight or birthplace, is fine. Rearranging the application, like putting the history before personality, is also fine. Taking away sections is not okay, with the exception of the "Other Notes" section.
We ask that your character make sense and be original, as well. Don't just copy other people's bios or completely derive your character from an already existing source (movies, TV shows, other forums, etc). Additionally, it's unlikely that a young child would be allowed to go off on their own into the galaxy, and even more unlikely that they'd be able to take care of themselves without any help at all. Just keep that in mind when creating a young character; if you can justify it properly, go for it.
After your character is accepted, please add in a couple more sections to their profile and make a link to the profile in your signature. You can even put these sections in your profile before you get accepted, but you must leave them blank. The sections you must add in are listed below:
Level: 1 (Your character starts at level one, no questions asked.)
Spells/Skills:
Equipment/Items/Chrono Ring Apps:
Monsters:
While it's not required, it's advised that you have separate posts in your character's thread for your character's items, spells/skills, and monsters for organizational purposes and so you don't run out of room in the main post if your character gets a lot of stuff during their Amazing Adventure Through The Galaxy. Furthermore, make sure you add in your character's racial skills unless you deliberately want your character to not have them for whatever reason. (e.g. Your cainos character is a mute and therefore cannot use the Battle Howl ability.)
Additionally, if you don't like that format for your character's stuff, feel free to change it. However, make sure that you do list all the items they own, abilities they have, their level, etc somewhere.

General rules:
- Use your best grammar, spelling and punctuation. Please.
- Avoid making mention of real-world things that would not exist in Chrono Stars' continuity, such as real-world celebrities or happenings, even in a narrative sense (e.g. "She looks like Paris Hilton" would not be okay even if it was just the narrator saying it and not a character).
- Artificially created characters cannot exist, with the exception of the cabarus alphas (since they have always been artificially created, being robots). The Ailnyk Galaxy's science has not yet advanced to the point where they can create an organic, living Kylian. You may have a character with a robotic arm or what have you, but organic characters are born.
- Your character may not have seen or made contact with a planet guardian, member of the Order of Arplakoon, any Fantasticas, or the Acitnaf anywhere in their history. Similarly, your character cannot be related to any of these "supernatural" beings. Your character could say, have always dreamed about meeting one or has a past of worshiping one of them, but they may not have actually made contact with one of them. (Feel free to have your character be delusional and think he/she has met one of them or is related to one of them, though.)
- Your character cannot have preset Chrono-given powers, monsters, or items, with the exception of default racial abilities and your first custom ability, if you got it accepted before posting your profile. Regular items, like normal necklaces or backpacks, are fine as long as they don't have some hidden power or whatnot. Weapons or magical items aren't allowed, including Chrono Rings. Your character may have, say, a helmet, but it can't be compatible with Chrono and therefore is more of an accessory than anything else. Additionally, it will not level up like regular armor or weapons. Your character can have previously owned a monster in their history, but you will have to come up with an explanation as to why the monster is no longer with the character. (The monster could have run away, been given to a relative, been left at home or died, for example.)
- For your new character to have met another person's character in their history or otherwise make mention of them, the role player of the other character needs to give their consent.
- Be sure that any extreme oddities that defy the racial norm (e.g. a lizafos having hair, a shape-shifter being unable to change shape or a quadruped rago living off of Dracostar) are explained somewhere in the application. In fact, have oddities explained, period.
- Your character cannot be a member of an extinct race, such as a precursor, gryphon, kraldran or a colossus.
- Your character may also not be a member of an "event race" unless that race's planet is the event planet at the time of profile's review. You could, say, theoretically post a doeron character profile at any time, but the character would not be accepted until Dracostar was an event planet. This rule is null if you were allowed to create a member of an event race as a prize from a contest or something similar.
- You are allowed to invent things in your history, such as a custom, a group, a place, etc since the galaxy is huge and it'd be impossible for the forum to cover it all. However, do not try to make this invented place important and big: calling it "the center of tourism in Drio" would infringe on canon (because then everyone else who wants to invent a "center of tourism" in their history would have to conform to your vision rather than the actual canon one). Inventing a giant war "that left Sigzlor war-torn" is also not okay, because then everyone from Sigzlor would have to mention your war. Basically, you can make up things so long as you don't make canon conform to it. This also means your invented places cannot contradict canon (e.g. putting a desert in the middle of Tasar).
- Many races have subspecies, such as the doeron, wolfgang and cainos. You are allowed to invent your own subspecies for races if you talk to me about it first and get it approved. I'm generally lenient with subspecies creation, so don't be afraid of getting rejected. Sometimes I might ask you to retool a few things, but as long as it's clearly of the same "main race" and isn't so radically different you wouldn't be able to tell what it's supposed to be (e.g. making a two-legged doeron wouldn't be okay), then you'll probably be okay.
