General Information
Name: Zhark Krall (Pronounced Z-Arc Kral)
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Race: Zaurus
Level: 1
Experience: 0
Appearance
Zhark has a very pale olive green complexion, the color becoming stronger around his eyes/face as well as on the membranes of his wings. His beak is above average in length compared to the norm for a Zaurus, although in the males of his family this trait isn’t uncommon, and is almost an ivory white in coloration. As for his eyes they are quite a dark shade of brown. The crest on the back of his head is quite small, yet again a trait inherited from his father. It is still fairly noticeable, but compared to his beak its size is at least half. The tip of his crest is also whiter in color than the rest of his skin.
His body is fairly slender but still somewhat toned; the muscles on his chest/stomach showing through slightly without being too buff. On his chest he has a tribal style tattoo, more like a clan symbol that the men in his family often get upon reaching maturity as a sign of their “Drio Pride”, even though they still live on the planet in question, something that has become a tradition of sorts to be passed onto the next generation. The claws on his hands are quite slim, as are the three on his feet, both the same ivory white as his beak.
Personality
Quite a relaxed individual Zhark usually likes to go with the flow, being a natural follower rather than a leader, something he is quite comfortable with. This calm, relaxed attitude shows through no matter what he is doing and very little will seem to perturb him from this outlook. The main things that can break this outlook however is insulting Drio or the Zaurus people, two things he is very prideful of, doing so usually resulting in whatever weapon he has at hand being pointed at the target of his unhappiness. Zhark doesn’t really know what he wants to get out of life and he never seems to plan that far ahead simply because there are too many unknowns out there that can mess with a well laid out strategy.
As he spent many years working as a guide for scientists and the like he is quite used to non-Zaurus Kylians and has no personal prejudices against them, happy to be friendly with any he meets, even offering aid should he be able, usually for a fee if the situation is difficult enough to warrant it. A little rash at times Zhark prefers to act quickly rather than sit and think about a solution, not that he isn’t of reasonable intelligence, he would rather just get on with things without excess hassles that could impede him from relaxing.
History
From a young age Zhark always respected his father, a member of the local group who protected their small village from the hoards of monsters that roamed the surrounding Wildfire Zone. When he was old enough to fight his father began to teach him how to wield swords and guns, the weapons of choice for the ‘defenders’, in hopes that one day his son, who showed such an interest in their activities, would be able to join them in combat against the monsters. At first Zhark’s mother was unhappy with this arrangement, but when she saw how much her son seemed to be enjoying his training with his father she couldn’t say no.
When he reached maturity Zhark quickly got himself a job as a guide for the few scientists who came to study the wildfire zone, his father’s training paying off by making him suitable for the job. The pay was good and the work enjoyable so Zhark had no complaints; after all it was an easy job with a steady income, just what he had wanted to do with his life. After many years of this one of his regular clients, a Noctra names Cecille, insisted that he go with her to another planet, Cecille not wanting to hire another guide when she already had one she trusted to watch her back. At first Zhark was torn; Drio had everything he needed but the chance to at least see what else was out there had caught his interest and he agreed to accompany her.
Unfortunately that job was to be a failure as not long after their arrival on Nicta his client Cecille became sick. Nevertheless she insisted on paying Zhark for his help in escorting her to her home in the city Fol Atzo, as well as letting him stay in a small flat she usually rented out to help funding her expeditions. Deciding to take Cecille up on this offer and spend some time looking around Fol Atzo before heading home Zhark had his eyes opened to the world outside of the wildfire zone, although at the price of emptying his pockets. If it hadn’t been for the kindness of his former client in lending him her ship he would probably have not been able to make his way home, Zhark decided then and there that he would one day return to repay her kindness somehow. Before making the journey back to Drio however Zhark, at the suggestion of his client, decided to stop off on the mysterious planet of Arplakoon, the rumors of adventurers being able to pick up Chrono rings, among other things, being too much of a temptation for the would be explorer to ignore.
